The National Garden is right behind the Parliament. It’s a green - the green - oasis right in the heart of Athens. It is the perfect place to relax during a hot and sunny athenian sightseeing day.

Just grab a ”Koulouri Thessalonikis” before entering through the gate on Amalias Avenue and find yourself a bench in the shadow of an eucalyptus tree next to the ponds. Stretch your legs, enjoy a “freddo espresso” and watch the ducks or admire the turtles. If you’re back on your feet, stroll around and look for the iconic 25-meter-high “Washingtonia palm trees”.

You can even bring your kids, there’s a playground and even a small zoo right inside the park.
